FAQ

What happens during playgroup?

Playgroups include a mix of process art, movement, nature activities, and group games. I try to strike a balance between having a plan and being open to the needs of the group, so that each child gets their developmental needs met.

What if my child is shy?

All personalities are welcome! Playgroups are a great opportunity for more reserved children to step out of their comfort zone, try new things, and make friends. I’m mindful to encourage children to engage, without pressuring or shaming. I believe in meeting them where they are.

Can my child’s younger sibling come with me?

Younger siblings are always welcome to join our playgroups. Babies who are not yet walking may attend free of charge. Once they’re on the move, they can officially join in at a special sibling rate—enjoy 10% off their registration.

What do parents do during playgroup?

Parents move between engaging in play alongside their child, socializing with other parents, and observing their child. I encourage parents to slow down to their child’s pace, and enjoy watching them develop. Take the opportunity to observe what they’re capable of.

Let’s explore what play schemas are and how they support your toddler’s learning.

  • What Should I Do When My Child Hits?

As parents, dealing with hitting can be frustrating and confusing. The good news is that hitting is a developmentally normal behavior at certain ages, and there are effective strategies to address it. Let’s break it down by age to better understand what’s happening and how you can respond.
