New to the area? Welcome to one of the best places in the US (in my humble opinion). Read on for my favorite family-friendly spots in Hamilton County.

Coffee Shops

  • Noble Coffee: order a chai latte and cozy up next to your loved ones at this Noblesville spot

  • Indie Coffee Roasters: one of the few cafes that offers to serve your drink in a mug, multiple locations in Carmel

  • Rivet Coffee: this spot roasts their own beans, original Westfield location is in a remodeled house (best to visit in summer with kids, so you can sit outdoors), multiple locations: Westfield and Zionsville

Food and Restaurants

  • Joe’s Next Door: solid, always delicious sandwiches, downtown Carmel; the Italian Next Door is my usual order

  • Mellow Mushroom: a go-to for delicious pizza and craft beer, in Carmel

  • Stacco House by Mama Mia: funky name but seriously THE BEST pastries you can get, do not pass up on the pistachio cake or shortbread cookies with nutella filling (best to visit in warm weather so you can find a bench outside to sit on while you munch), in Carmel

  • Cafe Patachou: get the cinnamon toast and thank me later, parking can be a bit tough, but worth it when you take a stroll through beautiful Zionsville after you’re done eating

More Fun Things

  • Cool Creek Park: hike on trails, big playground, and a hidden natural playground

  • Carey Grove Park: playground with a variety of equipment for 1-7 year-old, big grassy area, basketball court, and a walking loop
