Family Friendly Places - Indianapolis

New to the Indy area? Welcome to one of the best places in the US (in my humble opinion). Read on for our favorite family-friendly spots around Indianapolis.

Coffee Shops

  • Bovaconti: order a Spanish latte and walk across the street to Tuggle’s Gifts and Goods

  • Amelia’s (Windsor Park): snag a cookie or morning bun to go with your drink and stroll through the neighborhood

  • Ascend Coffee: spacious and cozy, this is a great place to visit with kids or camp out for a while solo or with a friend

  • Coat Check Coffee: busy and sometimes a smidge loud, this bustling cafe downtown serves up an incredible pistachio latte (bonus: great people watching)

Food and Restaurants

  • Chris’ Ice Cream and Mexican Food: solid, low-key, delicious Mexican food and ice cream

  • Garden Table: a go-to for special brunch with your family or friends

  • Rene’s Bakery: approachable and absolutely delicious pastries

  • Bagel Fair: the best bagels in Indy, hands-down—I usually get an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese

More Fun Things

  • Eagle Creek Park: lots of options for hiking, water activities, and a wildlife discovery center

  • North Mass Bouldering: a very cool, inclusive rock climbing gym—they have classes for kids and a cafe upstairs too
